The Minister for Finance Hon. Esrom Immanuel welcomed Mr. Ozgur Demirkol, the newly appointed Director of the Pacific Financial Technical Assistance Centre (PFTAC), during a courtesy visit in Suva.
The Minister acknowledged Fiji’s long-standing partnership with PFTAC, which has been hosted in Suva since its establishment in 1993, and its important role in strengthening economic and financial management across the Pacific.
Discussions focused on further strengthening cooperation and aligning PFTAC’s technical assistance with Fiji’s reform priorities, including public financial management, fiscal sustainability, revenue mobilization, debt management, internal audit, fiscal risk management and strengthening capacity at the Fiji Bureau of Statistics.
The Minister congratulated Mr. Demirkol on his appointment and expressed Fiji’s continued commitment to working closely with PFTAC and the IMF to advance sound economic and financial management.
