The Minister for Finance, Commerce and Business Development Hon. Esrom Immanuel, met with a visiting mission team from the International Monetary Fund earlier today as part of the ongoing 2026 Article IV consultations with Fiji.
The meeting marked the start of a series of discussions that will assess Fiji’s economic outlook, policy direction and overall macroeconomic developments.
During the meeting, the Minister welcomed the team and acknowledged the continued partnership between the Government of Fiji and the IMF in supporting the country’s economic development and resilience.
The IMF mission, led by Alasdair Scott, will hold consultations with various government agencies and key stakeholders over the coming days as part of the review process.
The Article IV consultation is a regular engagement undertaken by the IMF with member countries to discuss economic performance and policy priorities.
