Minister for Finance, Commerce and Business Development Esrom Immanuel met with the United Kingdom Special Representative for Nature, Ruth Davis OBE, during a courtesy call at Ro Lalabalavu House in Suva.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong partnership between Fiji and the United Kingdom and their shared commitment to climate action and sustainable development.
Discussions highlighted the longstanding diplomatic relationship between the two countries, which dates back to 1970, and the importance of continued collaboration on global priorities.
Both sides also discussed strengthening cooperation on climate resilience, biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. Fiji reiterated its commitment to working with partners such as the United Kingdom to advance climate action and support vulnerable communities facing the impacts of climate change.
The visit also provided an opportunity to explore avenues for technical cooperation, knowledge exchange and climate and nature finance to support Fiji’s resilience and development goals.
