Officials from the Ministry of Finance (MoF), Fiji, and the Ministry of National Planning and Development Coordination (MNPDC), Solomon Islands, convened a peer-to-peer learning meeting today aimed at strengthening public financial management and planning systems through practical knowledge exchange.
The meeting focused on open and constructive discussions on shared challenges, operational constraints, and opportunities for business process improvements. Participants exchanged experiences and lessons learned, with particular emphasis on reforms and practices implemented by Fiji’s Ministry of Finance that have proven effective and adaptable to the Solomon Islands context.
Key areas of engagement included institutional coordination, planning and budgeting linkages, process efficiency, and implementation challenges, as well as identifying practical solutions that can be tailored to national circumstances. The dialogue reinforced the value of regional collaboration and peer learning in advancing sustainable and context-appropriate public sector reforms.
