Minister for Finance, Commerce and Business Development, Hon. Esrom Immanuel, today received the United Nations Resident Coordinator to Fiji, Mr. Dirk Wagener, on a courtesy call at Ro Lalabalavu House in Suva.
The meeting reaffirmed the long-standing partnership between the Government of Fiji and the United Nations, and their shared commitment to supporting Fiji’s national development priorities.
Discussions highlighted ongoing collaboration in key areas including governance reform, climate resilience, disaster recovery and inclusive economic growth.
The Minister acknowledged the continued technical and capacity-building support provided by the United Nations system, while Mr. Wagener reaffirmed the UN’s commitment to working closely with Government to align development assistance with Fiji’s priorities.
Both parties also noted the importance of coordination among development partners to ensure effective delivery of development support and to strengthen Fiji’s role as a regional hub for UN engagement in the Pacific.
