The Minister for Finance, Hon. Esrom Immanuel, today welcomed the U.S. Ambassador to Fiji, H.E. Marie Damour, for a courtesy visit.
Their discussion reaffirmed the strong partnership between Fiji and the United States, with a focus on finance, economic development, and regulatory cooperation.
Ambassador Damour highlighted the ongoing work of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) team in Fiji, including consultations across government, private sector, and civil society to identify key barriers to investment and economic growth.
The Hon. Minister also thanked the U.S. Government for selecting Fiji for the MCC Compact, noting its potential to boost investment and support sustainable development.
The meeting also addressed shared priorities such as tackling trafficking and strengthening national responses through continued collaboration with international partners.
