Minister for Finance, Commerce and Business Development Hon. Esrom Immanuel welcomed Japan’s Ambassador to Fiji, H.E. Hiroshi Tajima, during a courtesy visit at Ro Lalabalavu House in Suva.
The meeting highlighted the enduring Fiji–Japan partnership, built on over 50 years of diplomatic ties and strengthened through the Lomavata-Kizuna partnership.
Discussions focused on deepening cooperation in climate resilience, maritime security, infrastructure development, and regional engagement under the Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) framework, ahead of the upcoming Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting (PALM).
Minister Immanuel acknowledged Japan’s continued support towards Fiji’s development, while Ambassador Tajima reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to advancing shared priorities for mutual prosperity.
